Question 1

Who can become a coach?

Accepted Answer

Career coaches, interview specialists, former recruiters and hiring managers, sector experts, and experienced professionals who want to share what they have learned. You do not need to be in tech: Amalera candidates come from every sector.

Question 2

How does applying work?

Accepted Answer

You sign in with a one-time code (no password), then fill in your headline, a short bio, the languages you coach in, your rate and session length, and sign the coaching agreement. Amalera reviews every application by hand before you appear to candidates, usually within 2 to 3 business days.

Question 3

Can I look around before I apply?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you have signed in as a coach you can preview the coach workspace in read-only mode: the dashboard, the candidate view and the session notes, before your application is approved.

Question 4

How many coaches and candidates are there?

Accepted Answer

Amalera is in early access. There is no coach roster to point at yet and we would rather not invent numbers. Founding coaches help shape the platform; paid sessions start when payments go live.

Question 5

What do I see about a candidate?

Accepted Answer

What the candidate chooses to share: for example a protected CV, their target role and their STAR stories. Details they have hidden stay hidden from you too.

Question 6

Who can read my notes?

Accepted Answer

Private notes are only yours. Notes you mark as shared are visible to that candidate. Nothing you write is shown to other candidates or used to train models. This comes from the draft coaching agreement, which is still pending legal review.

Question 7

What happens with what a candidate tells me?

Accepted Answer

It is confidential under the coaching agreement. Amalera also keeps candidates in control of what they share in the first place.

Question 8

How much will I earn?

Accepted Answer

You set your own price, in your own currency, and Amalera shows what you will receive before you save it. Try the calculator on the earnings page. The platform fee is announced before paid sessions start.

Question 9

When am I paid?

Accepted Answer

After you mark a session completed, not at booking. The app says transfers usually land within 2 business days of completion once payments are live.

Question 10

What if a session is cancelled or someone does not show up?

Accepted Answer

You are paid after completion, so if a session is cancelled or missed before that, nothing is deducted from you: there is nothing to claw back. A waiting window and automatic no-show handling apply; the exact terms are published before paid sessions start.

Question 11

Where do my bank details go?

Accepted Answer

To our payment provider (Stripe Connect), never to Amalera. Amalera sees a reference, not your bank account or tax forms.

Question 12

What about taxes and VAT?

Accepted Answer

You coach as an independent contractor and are responsible for your own taxes. You get a monthly statement of what you earned. How VAT applies will be explained in the coach terms before paid sessions start.

Question 13

When do paid sessions start?

Accepted Answer

When Amalera's payments go live. Until then you can apply, be reviewed, set up your profile and price, and run sessions; payout setup opens with payments, and sessions run before that are paid out once you have connected.

Question 14

How do the sessions run?

Accepted Answer

Candidates book from your availability, both of you get a reminder an hour before, and you meet by video inside Amalera. If you prefer, paste your own call link instead.

Question 15

Can I offer a free intro call?

Accepted Answer

Yes, optionally: a free 15-minute call helps you and the candidate see whether it is a fit.

Question 16

What is dictation in my notes?

Accepted Answer

A microphone button in your private and shared notes. You speak, and the text appears at your cursor in short passages a few seconds behind your voice. You can edit it like any note, and notes autosave. If no speech engine is available the button shows as off.

Question 17

Am I tied to Amalera?

Accepted Answer

Not as far as the current draft of the coaching agreement goes: it makes you an independent contractor, asks for no exclusivity, and either side can end the arrangement at any time. The final agreement is pending legal review, so read it when you apply.

Question 18

Which languages can I coach in?

Accepted Answer

The app speaks English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. You list the languages you coach in on your profile and candidates can filter by them.
